Kismet / The Pantry - Jersey
We’re looking for a warm, hardworking and switched-on person to join our team at The Pantry by Kismet Cabana.
This role is mainly based in the shop, helping with the day-to-day running of The Pantry – welcoming customers, keeping the shelves looking beautiful, staying on top of stock, supporting online orders, and helping create the kind of friendly, thoughtful customer experience we want people to remember.
We’re looking for a proper grafter. Someone who notices what needs doing, takes pride in the little details, and is happy to get stuck in – whether that’s serving customers, restocking freezers, packing orders, keeping things clean and tidy, helping with displays, or learning more about the local produce and products we sell.
A genuine interest in food, farming and where our ingredients come from is really important to us. The Pantry is built around supporting local growers, producers and agriculture, so we’d love to find someone who is curious, open to learning, and excited to talk to customers about the people, farms and stories behind the food on our shelves.
There will also be opportunities to support our Kismet Cabana catering events, so a love of hospitality, good service and being part of a busy team is a must.THE ROLE WILL INCLUDE:
- Welcoming and helping customers in The Pantry
- Serving at the till and supporting day-to-day shop operations
- Keeping shelves, freezers and displays well-stocked, tidy and inviting
- Packing and preparing online orders for collection and delivery
- Helping with stock rotation, labelling and general organisation
- Learning about our products, local suppliers and seasonal produce
- Supporting customer service, enquiries and occasional admin
- Helping maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Occasional support at Kismet Cabana catering events
- Getting stuck in wherever needed — this is a small team, so flexibility matters
We’re looking for someone who:
- Warm, friendly and naturally good with people
- Emotionally intelligent and able to read the room
- A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Hardworking, reliable and hands-on
- Passionate about good food, local produce and supporting Jersey agriculture
- Curious, open to learning and willing to ask questions
- Organised, practical and able to use initiative
- Proud of doing a job properly, even when no one is watching
- Comfortable working in a small, growing business where no two days are quite the same
Essential:
- Registered status
- Full driving licence
- Strong customer service or hospitality skills
- Willingness to support occasional catering events when needed
- A genuine interest in food, local produce and the Kismet way of doing things
About Us:
The Pantry by Kismet Cabana is our next chapter – a local food shop, production kitchen and online store built around proper ingredients, chef-prepared meals, local suppliers and our Soil to Soul approach. We’re still growing, still learning and still building something we really care about. So we’re looking for someone who wants to be part of that journey, passionately. If you love good food, good people and the idea of helping a small local business grow, we’d love to hear from you. For this role please email: Hello@thepantry.je
